  Kind'a like an oldfashioned General Store of yesteryear, the OB PostOffice is a sort of gathering place for gossip about what's happening of interest in the village. Because there's no RFD service, all homeowners receive free postal boxes. Not always so easy to turn those antique combination knobs to open and close. We want to keep the service alive, so everyone is encouraged to buy ALL their stamps at 11770. As a stamp collector, it's easy for me to keep my commemorative collection up to date. ***ic***

  Incompetent, disrespectful, and a disgrace to all members of law enforcement across the country. Referring to these degenerates as 'police officers' would be a stretch to say the least. The 'officers' of the Ocean Beach Police Department are no more than Paul Blart mall cops that never obtained their GEDs. If you want to go somewhere to receive a $125 ticket, not be allowed to enjoy the beach, and be talked down to by delinquents that have never had a position of power in their lives prior to the OBPD, visit Ocean Beach, Fire Island today!

  Terrible experience thanks to the police. We had a glass of wine in front of our house - we didn't know it was not allowed as Europeans - and instead of telling us the rule nicely, we would have listened, the police officer fined us, which I understand, but the guy made sure we also missed the ferry. It took him about 30 mins to write the ticket even though we told him we were in a rush. Almost missed our international flight thanks to this nice man. I understand that it's important to make sure rules are respected but that should not keep you from being nice and welcoming. #430 As he was fining the 3 of us, the guy said on the radio "saved me 3 slots"... So I hope he at least gained the competition with his friends.
